Reliable data is the foundation of a modern market. PCEI auditors gain full independence

The Polish Chamber of Exhibition Industry has completed an important stage in building its own independent audit team. During a meeting in Kraków, the experts received certificates confirming their full independence in verifying trade fair data in Poland and abroad.

Solid foundations – from the creation of CENTREX to CENTREX-PCEI

It all began in 1997 with the establishment of CENTREX, an organisation promoting transparency in the exhibition industry in Central and Eastern Europe, specialising in the audit and certification of trade fair data and in promoting it as a direct marketing tool. From the very beginning, its aim was to introduce clear rules for verifying trade fair statistics in Central and Eastern Europe.

Since 2025, this experience and the entire knowledge base have been part of the Polish Chamber of Exhibition Industry. The merger of the two bodies gave rise to CENTREX-PCEI, which draws on methods developed over many years, working with recognised experts – Karoly Nagy and Ildiko Molnar. It was they who made sure that knowledge of auditing was passed on comprehensively to the Polish team.

Before the team became independent, it went through an intensive training path. Under the guidance of Karoly Nagy, the experts acquired knowledge by auditing trade fair events both in Poland and on foreign markets. This stage was essential for learning the methodology and developing the right approach to data and to working with it.

The meeting in Kraków and full independence

After many months of cooperation, the audit team met in Kraków on 26–28 April to sum up the past months, discuss the audits carried out and, most importantly, receive their official certificates. These documents are not a mere formality – they mean that the experts of the new unit have gained full independence. From now on, they can verify data on their own, guaranteeing its reliability without external supervision.

Certified qualifications were awarded to people who work on a daily basis with the most important exhibition centres in Poland:

  1. Małgorzata Borowiec (Targi w Krakowie),
  2. Beata Górczak (Targi Kielce S.A.),
  3. Barbara Kalka (Poznań International Fair),
  4. Joanna Marcjan (Targi Kielce S.A.),
  5. Paulina Zaborska (Targi Kielce S.A.),
  6. Agnieszka Skowrońska (PCEI),
  7. Wiesława Galińska (PCEI).

The event was supported by the presence of Ewa Woch, President of the Management Board of Targi w Krakowie, who congratulated the team on their professionalism and full qualifications.

The independence gained is a signal to the entire market – the data supplied by CENTREX-PCEI is credible and reliable. The team of auditors is now fully ready for work. It is preparing for further audits, which will cover events not only in Poland but also in Hungary, Lithuania and Croatia. We believe that only reliable figures make it possible to build trust and genuinely develop the industry.

Warm congratulations to all the auditors!
