Companies fraudulently obtaining data and fees for entries in unreliable trade fair catalogues are active again!

We are concerned to note that, on the eve of the reopening of trade fairs after the COVID-19 epidemic, companies that fraudulently obtain payments from exhibitors have resumed their activities. These companies mislead exhibitors by claiming to be preparing a catalogue for the trade fair of a specific organiser. The Polish Chamber of Exhibition Industry has just received reports of this kind from leading trade fair organisers in Poland. It is therefore asking trade fair organisers to take immediate action to warn their clients about these scams.

To support trade fair organisers in Poland and their exhibitors in the fight against dishonest publishers of trade fair catalogues, the Polish Chamber of Exhibition Industry has prepared an information note that serves as a form of guidance. It contains important information and elements of legal analysis, but as such it is not exhaustive. In making this guidance available, PCEI is guided by the utmost concern for exhibitors, but it accepts no responsibility for its content or for any consequences of its use.

The information note is available here.
