The National Assembly at Poznań International Fair to commemorate the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland

The ceremonious National Assembly met at Poznań International Fair on April 15, 2016, to commemorate the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland and the origin of the Polish state. During this extraordinary meeting of the Sejm and the Senate, for the first time in history organized outside Warsaw, President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, addressed the attendants. The meeting was chaired by the Speakers of the Sejm and the Senate: Marek Kuchciński and Stanisław Karczewski. The meeting of the National Assembly, next to the Head of State and Members of Parliament, was also attended by: the Council of Ministers led by the Prime Minister Beata Szydło, members of the Polish Episcopal Conference led by Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki, the Archbishop of Poznań, as well as representatives of European Parliaments and the diplomatic corps. The attendees of the anniversary of the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland and the creation of the Polish State listened to the première performance of Oratorium966.pl performed by the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra, composed especially for this occasion.
