PCEI participated in the official opening of the new exhibition hall in Poznań

Poznań International Fair (MTP) finished construction of the new hall 8a. The official opening of the hall was held on March 3, together with the Awards Gala “MTP Gold Medal – Consumers ‘Choice 2013′. The event also featured the performance of famous Polish Roma Theatre. The ceremony was attended by 1500 guests from all over the country, including numerous representatives of companies from the exhibition industry. The official part of the evening including a ribbon cutting ceremony, took place in the hall 8A. It was performed by: Mr. Eugeniusz Grzeszczak, the vice Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Ryszard Grobelny, Mayor of Poznań, Mr. Andrzej Byrt, president of the Board of Poznań International Fair and Mr. Dariusz Wechta, president of the Board of Wechta S.A., the enterprise which designed and built the hall. After the opening ceremony the audience moved to hall 15, Earth Hall to participate in the Awards Gala „MTP Gold Medal – Consumers’ Choice 2013”. The awards regarded the most innovative and high quality products in Poland. The Gala was followed by the performance of the famous Roma Theatre from Warsaw. The construction of the hall 8A is the biggest investment made by the Board of MTP in the term 2009-2014. Works on the construction of the hall lasted from June 2013. The new hall covers the area of 2 801 square meters of usable space, and its volume equals 31 000 m3. The facility is suitable for the construction of modern multi-storey stands, even 10m high. The hall, from the side of the inner arcade of “Four-pack” is equipped with a mezzanine, which connects the building with conference rooms located on the first floor. There is also space designed for catering purposes. The new hall took the place of Swiss Hall, which was built in 1977. In 2007, the hall was combined with an arcade with the neighbouring halls 7, 7A and 8, forming an exhibition complex known as “Four-pack”. In early March, Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie will put into use an above ground arcade connecting the hall with conference- congress centre. In the future, these facilities will gather congresses numbering up to 15 000 participants.
