PCEI and GIODO organise a training course in protection of personal data

Representatives of exhibition companies must not forget that just like every data administrator they have the obligation to protect personal information. Being aware of the importance of this topic, GIODO and Polish Chamber of Exhibition Industry organise a training course in Warsaw on May 18, 2015. Arrangements concerning the organisation of the training were made during a meeting between the Board of PCEI and other representatives of the Chamber with Mr. Andrzej Lewiński, the Deputy General Inspector for Personal Data Protection (GIODO) on April 12, 2015 in Warsaw. The topic of the meeting was the changes in the Act on Personal Data Protection in force since January 1, 2015, which have a significant impact in the operations of enterprises. Special attention was paid to the new role and position of the information security administrator and the consequences its appointment or non appointment brings. Minister Andrzej Lewiński also discussed changes which may occur with the coming into force of the new EU resolution which will standardise the EU regulations governing protection of personal data. He also indicated which basic guidelines must be observed when processing personal data for marketing purposes. At the end of the meeting he answered individual questions being the result of the practical operations of companies from this sector. Due to the complicated character of the topic it was agreed that GIODO and PCEI will organise a training for companies from the exhibitions and event sector. It will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 in EXPO XXI Warsaw. PCEI Office has already started the organisational process in cooperation with GIODO, EXPO XXI Warsaw and with the Events Sector Association and Conference and Congress Association in Poland, with whom it has been developing partner business relations since the beginning of this year. Currently we are preparing a detailed program of the training which will last several hours. Members of PCEI, ESA and CaCA will be informed about the program and organisational matters in the next few days. You will also receive participation application forms. At present the number of participants is not limited.
