Mr. Andrés Lopez-Valderrama began his one year mandate as the UFI 2015 President

During the 2014 UFI Congress in Bogota, Mr. Andrés Lopez-Valderrama, the President of Corferias, International Exhibition Center in Bogotá and the President of AFIDA, the International Association of Fairs in Latin America, began his one year mandate as UFI 2015 President. Andrés Lopez-Valderrama holds a law degree from the Universidad del Rosario in Bogota where he graduated with honors. He has also completed studies at the Universidad de los Andes where he obtained a MBA in Business Management with a specialization in Financial Law. He was a Senior Lecturer/Professor at numerous Universities and from 2001 to 2006 held the position of Executive Vice-president of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce. In 2006 he was elected President of Corferias, International Exhibition Center based in Bogotá, Colombia. As President, he has been responsible for modernizing and internationalizing the company, transforming Corferias into a major exhibition center and exhibition organizer in the Andean, Caribbean and Central American Region. Since 2008 he has been President of AFIDA, the International Association of Fairs in Latin America. For the past three years, López-Valderrama has been the President of the Bogota Convention Bureau. López-Valderrama has been recognized by major business media in Colombia as one of the nation’s leading CEOs. He has been an active member of UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, first as President of its Associations Committee and now as a member of UFI’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Mr. López-Valderrama was selected as UFI Executive Vice President effective November 2013 and at the same time he become a member of the UFI Presidential trio. Source: www.ufi.org
